The Eredivo La Liga table has seen a flurry of activity in the space of a day, with the club battling to land a deal for their star winger Ezequiel Lavezzi.
With the transfer window just around the corner, it has been a tough week for both clubs.
But what can you expect from each of them in terms of a deal?
Eden Hazard and his Chelsea team-mates are due to depart Stamford Bridge on Monday.
And with the Blues on a roll, they could be ready to take on the competition with a fresh approach.
The first team are expected to make a move for Lavezzas signature on Monday morning, as he has a medical with the Ligue 1 outfit, but the EDS boss will have his sights set on a more significant transfer, as the Belgian is wanted by several other clubs.
Lavezzi, 28, is expected to leave Chelsea on a free transfer, with a fee understood to be in the region of £30m.
However, with all of the transfer activity on offer, the Edero will be in no rush to sell him.
“I am not interested in selling him, as I have been with Chelsea for a long time and the club has always been the same for me,” Lavezi said on Wednesday.
“I would like to remain at the club.
I would love to stay with Chelsea, I would like it very much.
But I will stay at the same club and I will never be happy anywhere else.”
If a club offers me a contract, I will accept it, because it is a good team.
If they don’t offer me a deal, then I don’t know what will happen.
“At the moment, I am concentrating on my medical and I’m happy where I am.
It is a tough day for me, but it is not the end of the world.”
Lavezza’s agent, Gianluca Di Paolo, has been keen to keep hold of the forward, as his team-mate has not made an appearance for Chelsea since January 2015.
However, the Italian believes he is set to make an impact at Stamford Bridge.
“He is a great player, but I know that I am only talking about a contract,” Di Paoli told L’Equipe.
“He is happy here and he wants to stay.
He’s one of the best players in the world.
He is a player with experience.
He will always have a place at Chelsea, he’s a fantastic player.
“He’s one that the club can count on and he is a very important player.
I don´t know what he is going to say, but if he wants, I can do a deal with him.
It’s an important time in his career and he deserves a chance to prove it.
We want to keep him here and we have no regrets about that.
He can do whatever he wants and I am very happy for him.
He knows that he has his future here and I want him to be happy here.
“Chelsea are in a similar position, having failed to land the Uruguayan striker Fernando Torres for a price in excess of £60m.LIVE: Ederom Lavezas move is all but complete, with Chelsea ready to swoop The Blues are currently in the hunt for a new forward, with goalscorer Christian Benteke and winger Aleksandar Kolarov both having joined Chelsea on loan this summer.
But while Kolaros latest move was a bit of a gamble, the striker himself is keen to stay at Chelsea.
On Wednesday, the forward was quoted by The Sun as saying: “I have not seen my agent, I have not talked to anybody and I think I will sign a new contract with Chelsea this summer.””
I think it’s going to be an interesting summer for Chelsea.
We are trying to do something big for the club, and we will try to get the best out of our players.
“It’s going be an exciting season, I don`t know how to say this, but Chelsea are a very good team, they are very well organised and they have some really good players.
If we can win everything, it will be great.
We will try our best.”
Benteke’s agent also confirmed his client would not be sold.
“There is nothing to sell, he is not going anywhere.
He wants to continue playing at Chelsea and he has the same desire to stay here,” Di Paolo told The Telegraph.”
We have a very nice relationship, we have spoken in the past, but there is no more.
