The blind singer is known to have a more famous voice than the deaf actor.
And the singer who sang “The Lady With The Lamp” and “The Queen’s March” has been given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
But there’s one less star to be found for the blind actress, who won an Oscar in 1979 for her role as Queen Charlotte in the musical “Charlotte’s Web.”
The star on display is on display at the Hollywood and Highland Center in Hollywood, California, in this March 4, 2017, file photo.AP/Julio CortezAlyssa Purnell, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and Welfare, said the star is on permanent display.
She added that the department’s website shows that the star was placed there in 1983, before the state enacted the ban on cast members with disabilities.
She said that while the state’s new policy on cast and crew members with special needs was passed in 2014, the policy is not retroactive to that time.
